This may seem kind of odd, but I am doing an informal project in which I am trying to teach my kids about interesting historical people from other countries. Some countries it is easy to come up with amusing biographies, but others are more difficult. Anyone have any ideas?!? They need to be exciting to young kids. For example, famous scientists who spent their days in a lab would not interest a 5-year old, even though their contribution to the world might be tremendous. We are currently reading stories about Leif Erikson. In your travels have you come across any historically exciting people that I might want to look into? The more remote the country the better! Thanks!
