Today I heard Bush say that Isreal has a right to defend herself and that Isreal is the only democracy in the region. That part I understood. Bush also went on to say that we can not question or criticise Isreal's actions against Palestine because Isreal is only defending herself. Bush went on to say that anti-semitism won't be tolerated. I agree anti-semitism can not be tolerated. This is my personal opinion on the situation. Neither Isreal or Palestine is innocent when it comes to committing acts of violence against their neighbour. The UN must intervene to preserve the peace and help bolster an independent, democratic Palestinian state, while also helping to protect Isreal. My question is : Why - if I question the actions or policies of Isreal am I automatically considered anti-semitist? I would appreciate as many views and opinions on this matter. I simply wish to better understand. Thank you.
